Ms. Durley serves as the Executive Director of the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) and the DALE Foundation, the official DANB affiliate.

During the conference, OSAP’s Immediate Past Chair Mike Smurr presented the Chairman’s Citation Award to Ms. Durley. The Chairman’s Citation is awarded to individuals who have contributed their talents, skills and time to OSAP and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the advancement of dental safety.

“I am honored to receive recognition from OSAP,” says Ms. Durley. “Like OSAP, DANB and the DALE Foundation are committed to personnel safety and patient protection. It is an honor to work with an industry leader like OSAP on important dental infection prevention, control and safety practices.”

OSAP is collaborating with DANB and the DALE Foundation on a multiyear dental infection control education and credentialing initiative.

The initiative will establish an assessment-based certificate program (2018), a dental infection control industry specialist designation (2018-2019), and a professional certification program in dental infection control (2019-2020).

Earlier this year, OSAP and the DALE Foundation introduced their first co-developed, co-branded Continuing Dental Education Articles (CDEA) module: Understanding CDC’s Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings, which is currently available on both organizations’ websites.
