When Kathy Begley, CDPMA, first heard about the e-learning courses for office managers, she was excited to sign up. "I am always looking for opportunities to make my position and professional standing stronger," she says.

Kathy has been a dental office manager for more than 40 years, and earned her DANB Certification in 2008. She currently works for Dr. Ronald Gross in Ballwin, Mo. Kathy first heard about the Accounts Receivable for the Dental Office course at the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) Annual Session last October. As an AADOM member, Kathy was given the opportunity to pre-register for the course.

The course took about four hours to complete, and Kathy says she was impressed. "I was blown away," she notes. "It was a well-thought out program and very intense. The review was really helpful."

Kathy passed the post-course assessment and printed her certificate of completion, which now hangs next to her CDPMA Certificate. "The certificates show that I am a professional, and it really makes you feel good," she says. "Patients see those certificates and feel confident in the dental office and have trust in the team."

Kathy earns continuing education by attending training sessions, reading dental magazines and journals, participating in webinars, attending dental conferences, and participating in AADOM programs. However, she looks forward to additional education opportunities for dental office managers in the future.
